For prescribers
You write the formula. We make exactly that.
Quantum compounds to your order: actives, strengths, base, quantity and directions as written. We do not substitute, and we do not adjust a formula without calling you first.
E-prescribe
Send to Quantum Pharmacy, Chevy Chase MD in your EHR’s pharmacy directory. Free-text the formula in the sig or the compound field, whichever your system exposes, and we will read it as written.
Fax
(301) 690-6881. A pharmacist picks up faxed scripts through the day; nothing sits in a queue overnight.
Call it in
(301) 690-6880. Useful when you want to talk a formula through before committing it: whether a base will hold four actives, or what a strength change does to the price.

What we need to compound without calling you
Anything missing means a phone call, which usually costs a day. A complete compounded order carries:
- Each active and its strengthPercentage or mg per unit
- The base or vehicleOr “pharmacist’s choice” if you want us to select
- Dosage formCream, gel, capsule, suspension, troche, rinse
- Total quantityGrams, mL or unit count
- Directions and refillsAs you would write them anywhere
If a formula raises a compatibility, stability or dating problem, we call your office, not the patient, and agree the change with you.
Formulary
Start from a formula that already works
Most prescribers write from our formulary and adjust it: a strength moved, an active dropped, a base swapped for a patient who reacts to the first one. We will send the current version to your practice, and a pharmacist will walk through anything on it.
We also compound outside these categories, including paediatric dose forms, veterinary preparations, allergen-free reformulations and one-off requests. If you are not sure whether something is workable, call and a pharmacist will tell you in a minute rather than a week.

What your office can expect
Turnaround
Most formulas are compounded within one business day of the script reaching us, then shipped two-day or held at the DC counter. We tell the patient the timeline when we quote the price.
Cash pricing, quoted up front
Your patient hears one number before anything is made, with shipping in it. No prior authorization, no appeal, no benefits manager deciding whether your clinical judgement qualifies.
A pharmacist on the phone
During pharmacy hours, with the formula open. Patient questions come to us rather than back to your front desk.
